There are mourning doves on our porch. They built a little nest in the awning’s rafters. She’s expecting and stays in the nest all the time. I went out on the porch for a nicotine break and her husband came by and talked to me. I told him that we are friends and that his wife is expecting at least 2 kiddos – a boy and a girl. He told me that’s his wife and to protect her. Then he flew up to greet her and check on the kiddos. He did a security parameter check. I told him that we’re friends, she’s expecting soon, and that I’ll guard her too. They’re my friends.
